I just recently read Sweet Dandelion and it was one of my favorite reads of the year. It was definitely on the darker side, it follows a heroine after she’s lived through a school shooting and she falls in love with her guidance counselor. It wasn’t dark dark, but it didn’t have a very light tone, ya know? I loved it so much, I hope you do too when you get around to it!!

Honestly, I would die recommending Gild. You definitely need to read it. It's much more than just a Fantasy Romance imo. A lot of people dislike the first book, but those are the people who typically like Fantasy Romance, so since you don't maybe you'll like it lmaoo

If you’re interested The Zodiac Academy is a fantasy romance series that reads very much like a contemporary bully romance. So many ppl hate it bc It has a ridiculously overwrought plot but honestly the bully romance is so much fun. The first book wasn’t the best but I read the 2nd & 3rd books in a day 😂 they’re like 500 pages each. It was such a trashy good time, I regret nothing. I haven’t read the rest of the series tho so idk how they’d compare
