Yes a scribe mini is what I want . The oasis was the best kindle and I wish they would upgrade it. We need a premium metal kindle. A colour kindle will not cut it against an Ipad mini.
I’d love to see a new basic Kindle with yellow light. All the rest doesn’t matter to me.

Thanks for your thoughts! I’ve used kindles since the first generation, and I really love the Paperwhite. Personally, I wouldn’t be interested in page buttons, or a larger device. But since I have a large volume of books, I’d prefer more customizable storage options.

the color in kindle will change the game..I just got a new paperwhite and it will suck if they intorduce color..because with color I can read text books for courses and journals also that will be huge for me
I was thinking of getting another Kindle but held off from getting one when I heard the rumors since I dislike how I always have to take out my Kindle out of my work bag to read at night before I go to bed and have pack it again for work the next morning.
OKAY… so i know I asked on an older video bc it was sold out in Canada. Today i looked and its still not available in Canad and now the Kindle Basic is also sold out. SOO i went to google, it sounds like the paperwhite is unavailable now in Canada, Australia and New Zealand (i didn't go to their respective sites to see about the Basic). I then found two different ereader sites that talked about the glitchy update from July having code in it for hardware that is not yet in Kindles. So i am going to assume that Kindle will likely be launching a similar lineup to Kobo with an updated 6inch that includes amber light and water resistance (to match the kobo Clara) and it may also be black and white or a colour option. If no colour option on the basic (heck they could ditch basic but i don't really see that) then Paperwhite with a colour option… and i think the Oasis will come like the LIbra Colour and become the Oasis Colour and they will likely not bring back the black and white version since they did mark that as discontinued. I tried to look up trademarks, patents and copyrights and they are filing some as of August 2024 but none specifically said for Kindle. I know with the Kobo's the trademarks were coming up and giving people hope of a colour version in 2024 and then it was launched really quickly, likely because they saw the demand.
Anyway, what do you think we might be seeing with the new lineup based on the Paperwhite and the Basic stock not being replenished in several countries? Given that they HAVE stock of these items in the US and their other markets like Germany, it's def not that they couldn't sell them in these other countries, but rather it seems they are trying to sell out everywhere IMO. I still think I will get the LIbra Color (price dependant) since Kobo works with libby in Canada and kindle doesn't but if the price is right AND they fix it to act more like the LIbra with on page notes vs the Scribe's notes it def wouldn't be out of the question, esp if they have the notebook options of the Libra Colour.

Love the way my Kindle Paperwhite reads but organizing my books on it is a pain. I’d like an improved set up for that.

I'd do anything to get my kindle book money back. Stuck is the word. Well not exactly stuck because upon audit they removed 36 of the books I bought without notifying me.

That Amazon release video sure does make it sound like something is coming out. I think you’re right in that it’ll be something to replace the oasis. There’s not much more they can do with regular readers now so updating paperwhite will be minor changes. But a new device gives them more room for innovation.

Love this overview of the e-reader market. My wife wanted the Remarkable Paperweight Pro, because it has color and a little bigger screen. So, I bought one and hope it's better than RM2.
I would be happy with a new Kindle Oasis with smaller bezel where the page turn buttons are. It will make it possible for it to fit into my back pocket. USB C would be nice too. I won't need or want color.
I wish Kindle would come out with a color version. I’m tired of the black and white Kindle.
I'd like a crisper, better screen view with easier navigation. The few times I've had images in an e-book or e-magazine on my kindle, they weren't the greatest.
I am hoping its a 8 inch kindle that could rival Kobo Sage and Kobo Forma for manga reading. But with better battery! Maybe not as good as Scribe 3000 battery because of the size but still something decent. And I dont need notetaking. Just a basic reading device. With colour to be able to view my manga covers in colour at least. Now that would be a kindle I would buy in a heatbeat.
A mini scribe?
The page turn buttons and the premium feel of the Oasis are the reasons why it is still my preferred ereader. It is noticeably slower than my newest Kindle Basic that i purchased specifically for travel/USB-C/Battery life.
I would probably buy a new Scribe-mini/Oasis type device right away for these features.

– Faster processor/speed
– Improved Battery Life
I wouldn't mind a color option but I usually read b&w books so this is not a deal breaker versus the page turn buttons are more of a factor. Amazon definitely has a gap for a compact ereader w/page turn buttons in their lineup.
When I lost my beloved Kindle Voyage, I had contemplated getting another used one as it wasn't available on A. anymore, but I didn't want to be restricted to one platform anymore. Instead I bought the 7.8" Boox Nova Air when it was released, mainly as a reader but also for the occasional handwritten notes to simultaneously replace my last Samsung Note. Yes, the Voyage was a slightly better as faster and crisper reader, but the Nova Air has the perfect size and functionality for me and with the Google Play store I have all the reading apps I'd want and more.
I won't go back to a Kindle anymore especially as there is nothing software-wise that could tempt me.
The Paperwhite in Canada is showing as unavailable to buy. Unsure if it’s out of stock or no longer available to buy
I think we're going to see a colour kindle early in 2025, which is why I don't see new kindles coming out before then.
I used Kindle Papperwhite 4, then switched to Paperwhite 5 and i actually love it . There is nothing to improve to be honest , what i would switch to would be potential new oasis cause it has page turn buttons which i think would be usefull
Another reason why there might be a new Kindle Paperwhite coming is when you go to the "Kindle E-Reader Software Updates" page it no longer have "All new" next to "Kindle Paperwhite (11th Generation)", which begs the question there might be a new-er version coming out soon? Or just Amazon finally realising it's no longer new so removing that text.
If they come out with a new Scribe with the Gallery 3 subtractive color space screen, then I’ll open my checkbook. However, they will need to fix their buggy latest software update that made Voice View almost unusable.
The present RGB color overlay screen used on Kobo and Onyx is junk. Only CMYW subtractive color is worth buying….Remarkable 3 for example. We will see.
