The flood insurance one is a bit different from the rest. Most home fall into one of two categories: 1. you don't need it, 2. the risk is so high that it would be extremely expensive, so much so that some people might not be able to afford "home insurance" if it was default bundled. There are some but rather few homes that fall in between. This is why it should, in fact, be offered as a seperate insurance, as it is too variable to be just attached. The problem is that this isn't always made well known ahead of the fact.
The same applies with earthquake insurance where I'm at. It is not covered by regular policy and must be bought seperately, for quite a high cost because it is a high risk, high cost thing, relatively speaking. But the insurance company are required to disclose it very clearly. When I didn't have it, I was notified about it on every renewal.
P.S. In US, flood insurance is subsidized by the government in most places, so it doesn't reflect the real cost. In all practical terms, normal homes shouldn't be built on flood zones. But there are a lot of difficulty in modifying/eliminating existing homes.
Just like state inspections and mechanics taking advantage of people… If we're going to be FORCED to do/get something, the state/govt needs to get their §h!+ together and figure out how to GUARANTEE this nonsense doesn't happen.
WTF is the point in paying for insurance, if you won't even be covered bc ridiculous, shady wording, or with car insurance, you have one small claim, and your premium goes up for the unforeseeable future!?
North America is such a p.o.s.
Read the policy
!
I think that maybe some of our elected officials should be following marketplace around stand up to some of these big companies and say enough is enough
Wow!! Thanks for that info! There will be lots of fine print reading and digging. Consumers are totally unaware!!
And yes the previous comment said it in ONE, it's the Government that's to blame for all these problems ….I will never recommend anyone to live in Canada…..

All and I mean all insurence companies are LEAGAL MONEY ROBBING SCAMS…. I garntee it. Any time something happens in some ones life they believe they have isurence coverage for you get totally screwed because because do they send you home with coverage on your car with absolutely every scrap of paper with every tinies detail?? No they do not give you the chance to spend a month carefully reading every single word written on every scrap of paper and has every what ifs, and every tiny changes made to your p[olicy but give you the grace to drive the car til you had time to read every thing? nope. I had insurence so if i got hurt ect on my pick up so the payments would get made. Writing the company a letter explaining how i became hurt at work, then was released on a wrongful dismissal i only had very tiny income and could not even pay rent. so i needed help making my truck payments til i was back employed ect. The LIE told to the JUDGE on court day. The Letter was written in hand writing, and I never filed out a form that was never ever sent to me or given to me. But the LIE stated I was suposed to write to them to request this form. Nope not call them, a written letter requesting the form! Better Yet, no one ever told me if i was to get into the situation i was in that i needed to write and request this form! But, But the 3000.00 dollars I paid for this insurence was recieved in full buy the insurence company! And I never had to have a form for them to fill out to take my money??? so looking into the policy there was absolutely no place where it mentioned to make a claim i had to write to request this form! so I lost the one and only truck I truely loved more than myself as well as the 7,000.00 paid into it, and the 3,000.00 the insurence company got to keep for absolutely nothing because the judge took their side and closed the case. so people my advice is make sure you have every thing in writing and be told to you in verbal before you sign, and if at all possible make the insurence company not receive payment until you make a claim, see how well that works for you as you sit getting screwed by insurence companies like all of us are every minute of every singal callender day…. PS I am not here to be judged for grammer or spelling thank you
Me just thinking about how all Americans have to deal with this even if they pay for health insurance and it’s not just for emergencies it’s for breaking your arm, stitches, injuries that aren’t major, Going to a doctor.
Us. It allowed to go into cuba
Insurance company are robbing Canadian for years 24/7 for decades
Always remember: An insurance company will try to get out of paying your claim!
For a country with free health care. Their health care dosent look free
My mechanic told me to never buy a car that's in an accident due to the frame. This is only because I didnt know anything about cars at that time. Now that I do, I would due a lot of test on the vehicles first.
Insurance claims should be 100% guaranteed and cannot be null and void regardless of anything in the contract as even if you never did something it doesn’t mean it can’t happen.
And to top it all off, a insurance reject tax of 10 times the claims made a month of the insurance company rejects any claims and cannot be charged to the consumer.
awww. BC insurance. lol
These accident sound like the car should be totaled. Although if you signed the paper it’s your fault for diminished value.
So the randomly generated ad right under this video is for medical insurance, nice fail google
