You didn't mention Outlander. It's rooted in history from Scotland to the American Colonies. The top notch production team is committed to authenticity. The costumes are exacting, the acting is stupendous. Don't let the time travel portion put you off. That is only a plot device. And the chemistry between the two leads, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe is the most electrifying I've ever seen. It's addictive.
Emily was worth nothing. The music was great.
TheEnglish Game was so interesting. ❤❤
Argh. Half of these are not available on Australia netflix. So annoying
The last Czar was f*cking fantastic !!! Highly recommend.
The cook of castamar ended up being one of my fave period drama movies/series I’ve watched
I have my list written down! I have seen the first two & absolutely loved them. I'm actually watching the English Game again. A couple of the others I started watching, but got waylaid!! A few nights in is now on the cards😂
Good list. Maybe mention if it is dubbed or subtitled to save us time if we’re visually impaired and can’t read subs.
10 series, exactly one that you gave the only compliment that matters: "it doesn't dumb anything down".
Poor odds, that, the last thing I'll lay my money on the table for is to be treated like an idiot.
Wicked little letters was a fun watch
Oooh some of these are so good! I searched 'Downton Abbey" & got a few gems
Loooove the cook of castamer❤
Wow, I have watched 3 out of the lot. Thanks for your recommendation
I loved the Cook of Castamar, the empress was a hit, no mention silver skates and the last Tzars. I can't wait to watch all the ones you shared. Thank you
The Lady's Companion was so good, but the ending was very lame. Maybe that's why it never got renewed for 2nd season. A shame!
Great video!
However may I ask why is Self Made drama is not on the list?
Is there any issues with accuracy or something?
I enjoyed it so much and found highly entertaining, so I would like to hear an opinion of person who really knows period stuff very well.
Looking forward to watch more videos on the channel 🎉
I highly doubt any of these are classic period piece dramas. Netflix is woke and cheap productions. That's why the real period piece dramas that are true to the literature, one can watch for the rest of one's life.
I completely disagree with the lady's companion. Its really get on nerves. Specially that blurry effect of faces and its overly filtered version for actors. Leading actress looks too old for hero. He looks like her child. And she so selfish. Instead of this cringe worthy fest you could definitely have added lydia the poet. It's actually nice.
Nice compilation. I've watched The guernsey literary and potato peel pie society and The Lady's companion. Both are must watch. Which drama is depicted in the thumbnail? Do let me know please.
I adored the English game and actually wished it had more seasons – perfect blend of romance and football drama.
on disney plus (canada at least) watch Belle, a true story about a former slave girl with a white aristocratic father who was taken in and raised as a noble by his family in 1700s England. its really good.
Poldark is on Netflix now
Ill definitely share this with friends.
The Empress is good, despite the dubbing.
I will watch anything about the Romanovs, but IMO The Last Czars was absolutely terrible. Waste of time. Find Nicholas and Alexandra free online and watch that instead.
The Cook of Castamar is great!
I loved The English Game!!!
I highly regret watching Alias Grace. I thought it was just a period mystery, but it'such worse than that. Im not a fan of thrillers or horror movies, and this series is just that: a period horror movie. I do not reccomend it.
A Little Chaos. Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman, and Stanley Tucci. Louis XIV Versailles….. Provides some FEELS 💗
Thanks!
Outstanding video!
Thanks for making this simple.
Alias Grace and the Leopard are great series! Also really loved the music in that last one.
There is also Perdida – 2023, is the classic romantic comedy trope of "modern girl goes back in time and fall in love", it has Jane Austen vibes but all characters are original and is inspired in a brazilian book. Is not super deep or anything but is fun and cute.
Very useful tips, thanks!
Learned something new today.
This deserves way more attention.
