Galdan Khan of Dzungar Mongolia invaded Khalkha and killed Tushetu Khan, the predecessor of modern Mongolia, and tried to annex Khalkha. Khalkha asked for help from the Qing Dynasty, the suzerain state of all Mongolia at that time. Emperor Kangxi personally led three expeditions to defeat Galdan Khan and save Khalkha. However, modern Mongolians regard Galdan as a national hero and Kangxi as a devil.

Red Cliff I & II is my favourite movie of all time . The Zhuge Liang character is perfect and just as I imagined when reading the books .

Kingdom of Heaven was horrible.
He failed at both his war aims. He didn't hold Jerusalem and his people sustained heavy casualties. He would have done better if he had walked away at the first sight of the Saracens . At least he would have achieved one goal.

Centurion is garbage. The Eagle is superior in every way.
I would also recommend The Legend of El Cid on Prime. Not a movie but a 2 season series.
Apocalypto is awesome. Don't care if you're not a Mel Gibson fan, he hit the jackpot with this one.

red cliff is an unreal movie, its over the top at times but ended up being one of my top 5 favprite historical epics
